AC’s Exterior Cleaning Service had the opportunity to provide roof cleaning in the city of San Jose, Ca. We got into contact with the homeowners via Yelp. They noticed their roof was covered in black and brown mold/ mildew, and wanted it back to the original red tile color again.

We started work on this home by applying a pre-treatment solution. This pretreatment kills mold and mildew rooted deep in the porous roof tiles. We let the solution dwell and watched this roof mold turn from green to dead white (a sign that the solution is effectively killing the organic material). With the mold now in the process of decay, we were ready to start the pressure washing work. Every roof is different, which means every roof requires a different method of cleaning. When it comes to asphalt shingle roofs we perform soft washing, which is the utilization of chemical detergents to effectively clean the roof. We never recommend pressure washing an asphalt shingle roof due to the rapid erosion of the shingles. For this tile roof, the now killed off organic matter needed to be pressure rinsed clean. After the pressure washing service was complete, the roof looked like new! Our homeowners got the exact result they were expecting.
